NW ORCHARD WALNUT plank style countertop with under-mount sink
Very popular, very dark wood that makes for a stunning countertop surface. The NW Walnut was planted by homesteaders who wanted the prolific nuts, but as these majestic trees reach full maturity they are beginning to die. Rather than haul them off for firewood, we make some stunning hardwood flooring and butcher block. Richer and more vibrant than Eastern Walnut because of our soil and milder climate. Chocolate browns, warm creams and port reds color this walnut and its highly figured grain makes it an absolutely standout butcher block material.
