Cherry- FSC certified
Cherry's relative softness is more than made up for by its elegant beauty, colors ranging from a golden pale to amber brown with warm pinkish tones, deepening over time to the rich patina of heirloom furniture. Cherry is also noted for its above average dimensional stability, shrinking and swelling far less than most woods as humidity changes, being less likely to cup or expose gaps as the seasons change.
Our Select and Better grade gives you the consistent, rich, red heartwood color for which American Cherry is famous, with less than five percent of the lighter colored sapwood. The result: a warm and luxurious floor. Select floors are almost entirely knot free, allowing for occasional small pin knots and burls.
Common is a very popular, very affordable grade, showing the full appearance of a rich, red, beautiful floor at a bargain price. This grade contains some lighter colored sapwood and small character marks, including knots no larger than 1" in diameter selected so as not to effect the strength or integrity of the flooring.
